Inês Carvalho style guide
One system, every page.
Every colour, size and component on this page comes from Automatic.css settings and the kit's component classes. Change a setting and the whole kit follows. This page ships with the kit so your client can see the system too.
Colour
Paper and ink carry the site. The one accent, a warm coral, is only ever an underline or the current thing: the live link, the current filter, the hovered title. It never fills a button; buttons are ink.

Posters, books and the things around them.
Six pieces from fourteen years.
A commission, in four moves
Card title and small headings
Lead text sits under a headline and says the one thing the section is about, in a sentence or two.
Body text is Onest at 18px on desktop and 17px on phones, line height 1.6, for reading. Headings are Gloock, a display serif with one weight, set large with a line height of 1. Inline links look like this link to the work, underlined in the accent so nobody has to guess.
Small text for captions, notes under buttons and legal lines. Never lighter than this.
Eyebrow label, the literal section headingButtons
Three weights: primary for the one ask on a page, outline for the alternative, text link for everything else. Verb plus noun labels. At least 48px tall. Buttons are ink; hover darkens nothing and lightens a step.
Section intro
Every section starts with this component: the literal heading as an eyebrow, the headline as a paragraph, an optional lead and buttons. Alignment and the band colour are props.

The four moves
A conversation
A call or a coffee. You show me what you make; I ask more questions than you expect.
A fixed fee
Within a week, one fee for the whole piece, in writing. No hourly rates, no surprises.
One direction
I show one direction, not three. We talk about it and I make it right.
The thing itself
Print-ready files, a press check if there is one, and the files are yours.
Ledger and the availability line
Two library items. The ledger lists clients by year; the availability line is a showpiece that settles into its words when it comes into view, and is plain text without the runtime.

Contact details and FAQ
How much does a commission cost?
Posters from €1,800, a book cover from €2,400, an identity from €9,000 and packaging from €6,000. One fee for the whole piece, fixed before we start.
How long does it take?
A poster in three weeks, a cover in four, an identity in eight to twelve. I take on six to eight commissions a year, so the start date depends on the queue.
Do you work with clients outside Portugal?
About half my clients are elsewhere in Europe. Everything works by call and by post; a press check needs me there, and that is in the fee.
Media
Images are always in a figure. Cards fix the ratio (4:3), a piece's picture is 3:2, the portrait is 4:5, gallery tiles are 4:3 with a caption. Corners come from the ACSS auto radius, so the client cannot upload a square-cornered photo by mistake.
